I love getting behind the wheel and driving, be it to the grocery store or across the state.
Sometimes I leave the radio off and just let the quiet of my little space envelop by being. Other times, I crank the radio and sing from the top of my lungs like I’m auditioning for The Voice, at a Karaoke Bar, or singing the National Anthem in front of a football stadium.
Those car moments between getting from place to place are mine. Often I get inspiration for my book or blogs behind the wheel, solve big issues and other times I just rejuvenate, chill in the moment.
Yesterday at a new yoga place (Yoga Haven, aka http://sparkforgirls.com/), taught by a friend, I hung onto her words, for I know they were just for me, Remember to be aware of the in between places, getting from point A to point B. Breathe in those transition places.
I need a knock on the head, a kick in the ass to remember to savor the middle…the place between here and there, this and that.
Just hang out and breathe here before getting into the next pose, our instructor reminded us.
No one was rushing me or hurrying me along. And I must admit, not being a fan of Downward Dog, I much preferred the in between spot. The transition place is a place in itself. Vital, life giving and transformative before we are ready for the next place.
